In a perfect world, all tests should have been executed on all possible combinations of operating system, browsers, configurations, etc. However, that isn’t realistic considering goals and deadline of any project. Although some major tests need to be re-run across multiple configurations, it doesn’t make the best value out of QA Analysts’ time to perform such tasks.

 

As a result, we have a team of Testing Analysts dedicated to executing the regression  test suite across multiple configurations, while QA Analysts work on assuring quality of the code being developed.

 

RegTest Team makes sure previously working functionality still works, after changes elsewhere in the system. This test validates that the pre-existing functionalities work fine when new code changes have been introduced. During regression Testing Analysts execute the established test cases on different operating systems and browsers as suggested by Product Management or Support team.

• Execute automated tests as available

• Create defects based on regression test execution

• Help QA team is testing fix of defects
